Hi. Could somebody please help me identify a word? I think this word is
Arabic. Here is the story before I tell you the word. My grandfather was in
North Africa somewhere, I'm not exactly sure where sorry, he heard this word
said to a group of workers digging a hole, the workers fell about in fits of
laughter, and ever since my Grandfather has wanted to know what the word
meant. The word is Ajeekookoo. Sorry, I don't know how to spell it properly,
but that's the way the word sounds.

It don't know of any word in the Egyptian or Syrian Arabic dialects, it
could be any of a dozen different languages spoken in Nothern Africa(African
Arabic, Swahili,Fulani, Fula, Peul, Xhosa, Hausa,Yoruba).

Can he recall if any of the words were empasized more than the others. That
word sounds more like an african language like Swahili.

I believe that this word is sort of a twist on a arabic word in the
dialect in Morocco (North Africa) called darija. The reason why I say
this is because the first part of the word is means something. But
before I say, let me talk to my husband and then i will tell you. But
since you heard this second hand, it may be hard to pin point it
because it may have lost something in translation, if you know what I
mean. It may be slang for something risque or for making fun of
somebody and they attached it to another word to be funny. I will try
to find out.
